What?

The industrial Trust offers a wide range of flexible and innovative services for young people, their teachers and for companies.

The trust enthuses young people about, and helps to equip them for, careers in industry. We do this by taking young people out of school and into companies”.

Each visit is carefully structured to meet the needs of the visiting students. The Trust liaises between the school and the company (companies) to develop a program that meets learning objectives agreed with the school. The visits that follow offer memorable experiences that excite and inform young people about particular careers or sectors and/or support curricular learning.

There are five programmes for young people :

Open Apprenticeships - A view of what it would be like to do an apprenticeship

Open Horizons - Seeing the benefits for further and higher education

Open Industry - Our original and popular programme that enables young people to get close to the reality of the world of work and the practical use of classroom learning

Open Enterprise - An insight to what it takes to run a business and how importnat it is to develop skills that employer need

Open for Business - An undergraduate programme that shows how different businesses offer opportunities to a wide range of graduate subjects

Competition for Young people

The Drapers' Company - Technical Textiles Competition - Technical Textiles is a growing field that needs scientists, engineers and technologists. Students submitting coursework demonstrating an understanding  of this exciting field can win prestigious prizes
