Open Apprenticeships
Young people need good quality information before they make decisions about their Key Stage 4 options and/or what they plan to do post 16. Too many base their choices on an inadequate understanding of their options.
Open Apprenticeships takes young people out of school and into a company and/or training provider to give them a taste of what Apprenticeship opportunities in one or more sectors really involve.
All Open Apprenticeship programmes provide tailored inputs on the chosen sector including information on the terms and conditions of apprentices and wider career opportunities. But, perhaps most important of all, by visiting a company/training site young people actually see what apprentices do and they get the chanced to talk formally and informally with current and graduate apprentices about an apprenticeship involves.
