The Drapers' Company - Technical Textiles Competition
Technical Textiles is a growing field that needs scientists, engineers and technologists. Students submitting coursework demonstrating an understanding of this exciting field can win prestigious prize.
Tomorrow’s
Engineers
This programme is aimed at promoting the vital role of engineers, engineering and technology in our society and to encourage people to pursue careers at all levels in engineering and technology—inspiring students to become Tomorrow’s Engineers.
Stimulating Physics
Part of a major project run by the Institute of Physics to stimulate a grater intrest in physics, by taking students to see real applications of physics in industry. Currently open to Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire and Leeds for students in years 9 to 13.
Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851
The Royal Commission is supporting educational visit experience programmes organised and completed by the Industrial Trust for 450 young people (250 of school age plus 200 undergraduates). The purpose of the programmes is to, enliven Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics studies, add to curriculum learning and enhance achievement
As part of this project there is information for teachers that can help enrich teaching and learning of science and engineering plus sources of guidance on careers for students.
