Tomorrow’s Engineers
Promote and enrich the study of
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
Schools and colleges are invited to participate in a new educational experience sponsored by the Engineering and Technology Board (ETB).
The programme is aimed at promoting the vital role of engineers, engineering and technology in our society and to encourage people to pursue careers at all levels in engineering and technology—inspiring students to become Tomorrow’s Engineers.
The Industrial Trust, alongside our other strategic delivery partners (The Smallpeice Trust, The Engineering Development Trust, Young Engineers and Primary Engineers) have developed stimulating packages to support the National Curriculum.
Open4All is the Industrial Trust’s programme to provide schools and colleges with short visits to engineering companies and enterprises. With teachers’ help, the visits are tailored to enrich the learning process, promote the use of science in the real world and inspire young people to consider engineering careers.
What we do...
We listen and understand the teacher’s learning needs and having found a suitable venue, we arrange short visits to engineering companies or enterprises to help support the delivery of the National Curriculum.
We ensure that the subject matter is relevant to groups of students and teachers and that the visit as a whole
provides an inspirational experience which will encourage students to reach their full potential.
We work closely with educators and industry to measure the impact of our work and to continually strive to improve the value of our contribution within the community.
Each visit ...
Helps to make explicit links between science concepts and real world application and enrich the learning process.
Allows students to engage with role models who can provide inspirational insight into using science and engineering qualifications within their career.
